The NordOps support team occasionally needs access to Eclipse for troubleshooting purposes. You may use the following procedure to create an account with the appropriate permissions (i.e. the standard Eclipse support access permissions):
Step 1: Create Linux User
Log into the Eclipse server as "root".
useradd -G eclipse nordops
passwd nordops
Enter the new password as requested.
Step 2: Create Eclipse Application User
NOTE: if you prefer, these instructions are also available in screencast/video format.
- Go to the User Maintenance screen (F2 - F - U -U)
- Open the ECLIPSEuser (we will be using this as a template later on)
- Enter "eclipse" in the User ID field and press ENTER
- Press ESC to close the user
- Create the NORDOPSuser
- Enter "new" in the User ID field and press ENTER
- Enter "nordops" when prompted for a new user ID and press ENTER
- Enter "y" when prompted to "Use last record as Proto (Y/N)" and press ENTER
- Modify the following fields
- Full Name: NordOps
- Nickname: NordOps
- Title: Eclipse Support
- Press ESCto save and exit
- Enter a note in the "Reason for Change" box
- Enter the new password and press ENTER
- Re-enter the new password and press ENTER
