For the official system requirements, please reference the Eclipse Knowledge Base (http://kb.eclipseinc.com/requirements/servers/database/) and Eclipse release documentation.

Minimum System Requirements

The following are the minimum system requirements provided by Eclipse for release 9.0.5:

  • OS: RHEL 6.7 (RHEL 7 required for Eclipse 9.0.5 API, see attachment, with an active subscription for software updates)
  • CPU: 4 vCPU or cores
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Storage: 30 GB (OS), database storage requirements based on existing database size (existing customers)

Recommended System Configuration Guidelines

Based on our experience, we recommend the following guidelines be used when sizing for a new database server:

  • CPU:
    • 1-100 users: at least 4 cores
    • 100-250 users: at least 8 cores
    • 250+ users: based on customer workload analysis
  • RAM:
    • 25% of existing Eclipse database size
    • Estimate for new Eclipse customers: 100 MB per user
  • Storage:
    • Solid-state storage (i.e. flash, SSDs)
    • 300% of existing database size to accommodate backup snapshots and growth
    • Estimate for new Eclipse customers: 3 GB per user
