Recommended System Configuration Guidelines
Based on our experience, we recommend the following guidelines be used when sizing for a new database server:
- CPU:
- 1-100 users: at least 4 cores
- 100-250 users: at least 8 cores
- 250+ users: based on customer workload analysis
- RAM:
- 25% of existing Eclipse database size
- Estimate for new Eclipse customers: 100 MB per user
- Storage:
- Solid-state storage (i.e. flash, SSDs)
- 300% of existing database size to accommodate backup snapshots and growth
- Estimate for new Eclipse customers: 3 GB per user
